Machine Doesn't Start

SYMPTOMS:

When starting the dispenser, the status acts like it's starting and after a long time, will throw an error.

This generally happens when the COM Port number for the X-Smart was changed by Windows but the Fluid Management Driver does not pick up the change and tries to keep communicating with the last known COM Port number used but doesn’t prompt the user to pick a new COM port.

If a prompt does show up while starting the dispenser, follow SECTION 1 to find the correct COM Port.

Follow the steps below to fix this issue.

SECTION 1 - Identify the COM Port number

1. Right click on the Windows Start Menu

2. Select Device Manager

3. Double click on Ports (COM & LPT), this will expand the section.

4. Locate the device named USB Serial Port (COM4), remember the number after COM.

The COM number used for this example, yours will differ.

SECTION 2 - Edit the configuration file

1. Right click on the Windows Start Menu

2. Select File Explorer

3. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Fast and Fluid Management\DriversAndTools\IDD2

If you can't find the folder above, you may need to navigate to C:\Program Files\Fast and Fluid Management\DriversAndTools\IDD2 instead

4. Locate the file labeled 16X-Smart 99222-01.idd

5. Right click on the file, select Open With

6. Select Notepad

7. Locate the label DataLink=COM1

For this example COM1 is shown.

Yours will show differently.

7. Change COM1 to the COM Port number found in SECTION 1.

WARNING: ONLY change the number after COM, do not change anything else.

For this example, COM4 was found.

Use your own COM number.

8. Once changes have been made.

1. Click File

2. Click Save

3. Close Notepad

9. Open OneTint

10. Select DISPENSER

11. Select START DISPENSER

12. The dispenser should start, the status at the bottom will show Starting Dispenser

13. The status on the bottom will change from Starting Dispenser to Agitation
