Missing OneTint Desktop Icon

PROBLEM: The OneTint icon is missing from Desktop, this does not mean that OneTint program has been uninstalled or deleted.

CAUSES: The OneTint icon, is a shortcut to the OneTint application. The OneTint icon on the Desktop has been removed or deleted by a user.

SOLUTION: There are two ways to restore the OneTint icon back on to the Desktop.

Solution 1: Restoring the icon from the Recycle Bin icon on the Desktop. If there is no Recycle Bin icon on your Desktop, Skip to Solution 2.

  1. Locate the Recycle Bin icon on your Desktop.

  2. Double-Click on the Recycle Bin icon.

  3. Locate the OneTint DotNet icon, you may have to scroll up or down on the list, depending on how many deleted files are listed.

  4. Right-Click on the OneTint DotNet icon, then select Restore.

  5. A Destination Folder Access Denied box may appear, select Continue.

  6. Exit the Recycle Bin window.

  7. Locate the OneTint DotNet icon on the Desktop.

  8. The OneTint icon restoration is now complete.


SOLUTION 2: Creating a OneTint icon.

  1. Right-Click on the Windows Start button on the Task Bar, select File Explorer.

  2. In File Explorer, select This PC.

  3. Double-Click on Local Disk (C:).

  4. Double-Click on the OneTint folder.

  5. Double-Click on the OneTintDotNet folder.

  6. Scroll down to the list to locate the OneTint icon (your computer may list it as OneTint.exe). Just make sure the Type is listed as Application on the right.

  7. Right-Click on the OneTint icon and select Show More Options. If your computer does not give you the Show More Options menu, skip to step 8.

  8. Select Send to, then select Desktop (create shortcut).

  9. Locate the OneTint icon on the Desktop. It will be labeled OneTint - Shortcut, you may rename it if you choose to.

  10. The restoration of the OneTint icon on the Desktop is now complete.
